Database and Application Administrator (M/F)

As a database and application administrator, you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining the environment for the operation of our system, either on-premise at customers’ sites or in the cloud. In Customer Care, our goal is to ensure that users find our system easy to use, saving them time and providing reliable support whenever needed. You will support the operation of PROVYS for customers and assist colleagues in project work within our system environment.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Application deployment – Installing and configuring our system on-premise for customers or in the cloud.
  • Environment administration and configuration – Setting up environments for projects and testing.
  • Operational monitoring – Ensuring smooth system functionality.
  • Database backup and recovery – Creating recovery scenarios and testing database restoration.
  • User account management – Managing access rights and permissions.
  • Database performance monitoring – Overseeing system resource usage, database parameters, and log/trace file analysis.
  • Database software installation – Including database creation, data exports, imports, and migrations.
  • Version updates and patch management – Tracking new software versions, analyzing them, recommending upgrades, and testing them.
  • Database security and audit – Setting up security measures and evaluating audit logs.
  • End-user support – Assisting customer’s support staff in resolving end-user issues.
  • Operational documentation management – Maintaining records of database system operations.
  • Customer consultation – Advising clients on system component deployment and configuration.

  • Process automation and scripting (Shell, PowerShell)
  • Virtualization technologies (Kubernetes)

 

What you should know before joining:

  • Operating system installation & configuration – Experience with Windows Server or Linux.
  • Networking basics – Understanding fundamental networking principles.
  • English proficiency – Our documentation is in English, and we communicate with customers mainly in English.
